elbow ～ out of ～を押しのける
I was elbowed out of the way by an old lady on the train. I was surprised how strong she was.
電車で、年配の女性に押しのけられた。力が強くて、驚いた。
stick out like a sore thumb （ネガティブに）とても目立つ、場違い
Stick out は「目立つ」、a sore thumb は「痛い親指」です。「痛い親指のように気になる」「けがをして包帯を巻いた親指のように目立つ」です。
I hate being so tall. I always stick out like a sore thumb in photographs.
こんなに背が高いのは、本当に嫌だよ。写真をとると、ものすごく目立つんだ。
That statue doesn’t suit this room. It sticks out like a sore thumb.
その像は、この部屋には合わないよ。場違いだよ。
wrapped around one’s finger 言いなり
Heath: Why did John do that?
Aston: His girlfriend wanted to do it. He’s wrapped around her finger.
ヒース：どうしてジョンは、そんなことしたんだ？
アストン：ジョンの彼女がそうしたかったんだ。ジョンは、彼女の言いなりだよ。
with one arm tied behind one’s back 簡単に
「片腕を（後ろで縛って）使えなくしても」「腕一本で十分なほど」という意味です。
Cory: I’m a faster swimmer than you.
Mick: No way! I could beat you with one arm tied behind my back.
コリー：君より速く泳げるよ。
ミック：無理だね！君を負かすのは、朝飯前だよ。
arms/armed 武器／武装した
Arms sales have been increased.
武器の売上げは増加した。
Armed police officers raided the apartment.
武装した警官が、アパートを捜索した。
legwork 下準備、時間や労力を費やす作業
I want to hire an assistant to help me with the legwork such as gathering information for the book, so that I can concentrate on writing it.
本の執筆に集中できるように、情報収集のような裏方の仕事をしてくれるアシスタントを雇いたい。
hotfoot it 急いで行く
You should hotfoot it down to the department store, because they’re having a sale.
デパートに急いで行ったほうがいいよ、バーゲンやってるよ。
